“And its place remembers it no more”
PSALM 103.16
When creating F/W ‘24 there was an urgency to declare truth. An all encompassing theme of creation and stewardship played the foundational role in the creative process.
As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Psalm 103.16
Coming from Christian roots, Taetum Sinclair wanted to use the opportunity to share her work with the world as a means of sharing her belief system as well. It began with her love of nature and it’s ability to break down what man builds up - a constant reminder that humanity is not the source of life. Sinclair wanted her viewers to visualize that structural breakdown throughout the runway. She used repurposed cashmere and wool to create an architectural skyline on each of her models. Having offered this baseline of visual consistency, architectural deterioration was introduced through hand embroidered regenerative silk vining which laced through the wool garments at the buildings’ bases growing throughout the model lineup.
the earth remembers its place no more
The creative process began with the Psalms and developed through the creation of a mood board, sketches, patterns, and a plot line. Shown are a sample of these.
