TRASHION ‘24
one man’s trash…
Taetum Sinclair sourced ballet performance costumes and deadstock fabrics to create her garments for the ‘25 Trashion season. Starting with sketching and creating a mood board the design process developed through pattern drafting and toiles.
Crafting the top from deadstock polyester with panels pulled from used costume pieces and the shorts from deadstock linen and a reused zipper, Sinclair wanted to stay true to traditional a ballet color palette while introducing playful jester-like themes. The look was topped off with a ballet shoe filled with regenerative silk flowers crafted into a headpiece.
Trashion is an annual fashion show held by MSU’s Fashion House club which encourages designers to repurpose trash into garments.
