Trashion ‘22

Coming into Fashion School without a background in design meant pushing herself out of her comfort zone. Within the first two months of college, Taetum Sinclair responded to this challenge by putting her name forward as a Trashion designer for the Fashion Board Fashion House club.

Crafting her first runway garment from repurposed linen and select fabric made from recycled solo cups, Sinclair created The Picnic Dress. Beginning as a green linen bubble dress with a ribbon laced through the hem, as the model descended the runway the dress fell turning into a midi dress resembling the movement of tossing a picnic blanket down over spring grass.

This dress sparked Sinclair’s interest in the runway and encouraged her to put her name in the hat for many unique feats moving forward.
